Malaysians Can Now Pay Summons Easily with MyJPJ App
Malaysian motorists can now easily pay their traffic summonses through the MyJPJ app, as announced earlier today by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook. This new feature streamlines the payment process, offering greater convenience to the public.
Loke emphasized, "Innovations like this not only make it easier for citizens but also enhance JPJ’s operational efficiency. As digitalisation progresses, JPJ must adapt to new technologies and the evolving needs of the public," he said during the inauguration of JPJ’s new office at Galeria PJH.
He also noted the success of the MyJPJ app, which has garnered over 11.5 million users. Existing features, such as the renewal of Malaysian Driving Licences and Motor Vehicle Licences, have contributed significantly, generating a total revenue of RM291.03 million. Starting January 3, vehicle owners will have six months to settle up to three specific traffic summonses at a special flat rate of RM150.
This offer, available until June 30, covers summonses for speeding, running red lights, notice 114 (requiring offenders to be questioned), and notice 115 (requiring statements to be provided as evidence). These offences usually come with a fine of RM300.
Payments can only be made through JPJ counters, kiosks, mobile counters, or the MyJPJ app. Other payment channels, such as MyEG or Pos Malaysia, will not be accepted. Currently, there are approximately two million unresolved summonses under the Automated Awareness Safety System (AWAS).
