Honda e:N1 – All-Electric SUV Launching in Malaysia 2025!
If you're at KLIMS 2024 from December 5-11, stop by the Honda booth to see an HR-V with no front grille on display. Curious about it? It's the Honda e:N1, the electric version of the HR-V, which will launch in Malaysia in 2025.
The Honda e:N1 was first launched in China as the e:Np1 and later brought to Europe as the e:NY1. Why are there different names? We're not exactly sure, but Honda might be using different names for each market.
While the outside of the Honda e:N1 looks almost the same as the HR-V, Honda says the e:N1 is actually built on a different platform called the e:N Architecture F.
By using the HR-V body for the e:N1, Honda creates a familiar design that might attract people to try an electric vehicle.
Inside, the Honda e:N1 has a similar layout to the HR-V, but with a larger touchscreen and a digital display for the driver. The center console has also been updated, replacing the gear lever with a row of buttons to shift the car into gear.
The Honda e:N1 is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor that generates 204 horsepower (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. It also comes with a 68.8 kWh battery that offers a WLTP-rated range of more than 412 km.
With the growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia, the Honda e:N1's debut could potentially stand out amid the increasing presence of brands like BYD and Tesla. Whether it will make a significant impact remains to be seen, but the wait won’t be long, as it is set to launch in 2025!
