GAC Aion ES EV Sedan Debuts in Malaysia for RM107k.


The GAC Aion ES has been launched in Malaysia at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS). This electric sedan comes in one variant, priced at RM106,800. As a special launch offer, buyers will get a free 7 kW wallbox worth RM3,500.

The Aion ES is 4,810 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,545 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. It’s bigger than other C-segment cars like the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, and Mazda 3.



It has a 136 PS/225 Nm electric motor and a 55.2 kWh battery powering the front wheels. The car can go up to 130 km/h and offers a 442 km range (NEDC). Other features include a 450-litre boot and 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 tires.



The Aion ES supports charging at up to 6.6 kW with AC, taking 11 hours for a full charge, or 60 kW with DC, which takes 1.5 hours for a full charge or just 30 minutes to go from 30% to 80%. It also features 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, one-pedal driving, and three regenerative braking settings.



Standard features include all-LED lighting, automatic headlights and wipers, dual-zone automatic air conditioning with rear air vents, leatherette seats, one-touch power windows (up and down for the driver, down only for the front passenger), conventional cruise control, and a power tailgate.



Additional highlights include a rotary gear selector, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, six-way adjustable driver’s seat, a 3.5-inch LCD multi-info display, and an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay support.
