2024 Nissan Kicks e-Power: 900 km Range on a Full Tank – Coming Soon to Malaysia!
Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has shared details about the upcoming Nissan Kicks e-Power, which will launch soon in Malaysia. The updated first-generation Kicks will be fully imported (CBU) from Thailand.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power works like an electric vehicle (EV) but isn’t a full EV. It uses Nissan’s second-generation e-Power system, with a 1.2-liter engine acting as a generator to charge a 2.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. This battery powers the electric motor, which produces 129 hp and 280 Nm of torque.
The second-generation e-Power system in the Nissan Kicks has a stronger electric motor, which makes for better acceleration, and the components are now smaller and lighter.
Nissan claims that the Kicks e-Power can cover up to 900 km on a full tank. In a recent drive from Nissan’s showroom in PJ to Melaka, covering 224 km, the vehicle still had 409 km of range left after using just a quarter tank of fuel.
While Nissan lists the Kicks' fuel consumption rate at 21.7 km/L, this particular trip achieved an average of 17.5 km/L. With a 41-liter fuel tank, the Kicks offers 423 liters of boot space, comfortably fitting up to five bags, including three 20-inch cabin bags, one 24-inch bag, and one 28-inch bag.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power will be available in Malaysia in three variants: the VL (Mid Grade), the VLT (High Grade), and the VLT (High Grade two-tone). The color choices include Red Pearl, Sunrise Orange, Brilliant Silver, Brilliant White Pearl, and Black Star.
All variants come equipped with automatic LED headlights, LED fog lights, auto-folding side mirrors, and 17-inch wheels. The top-tier VLT (High Grade two-tone) variant also features a dual-tone body color with a blacked-out roof.
