The police car, Proton S70 making its first appearance.

Many people know that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has a wide range of cars to strengthen the government agency. These vehicles are chosen carefully to meet different law enforcement needs, covering various situations and types of terrain. Having this variety helps the police work effectively to ensure everyone's safety and security.

During the recent coronation ceremony of the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, a Proton S70 with the Royal Malaysia Police markings was seen escorting the Prime Minister into the National Palace courtyard.

The sedan has 'POLIS' written on the front bonnet, rear, and on both the right and left front doors. The roof is equipped with strobe lights.

Besides the Proton S70, another local car model used by the Malaysian Police is the Perodua Myvi, which is a result of collaboration between Perodua and PDRM. At the same time, the Perodua Ativa is also used as an official vehicle by the enforcement agency. Both models are used in selected districts only.

In addition, in 2021, the public was surprised to see the presence of the BMW M3 police car. However, these cars were not official vehicles; instead, they were borrowed for a period for testing purposes. Besides a BMW M3, two BMW X3s and two Volkswagen Tiguans were also borrowed for the same purpose.

Will it be continued as our country's official police car?
