2024 Proton X70 Facelift Spotted with 2022 Geely Boyue Upgrades, Distinguishing It from Pro and Azkarra

Images uploaded to the Facebook page of the Proton X70 Owners Club and another set by reader Jeremy Joel of paultan.org show the facelifted Proton X70 conducting road tests on Malaysian highways, more notably on the Kesas Highway.

The updated Proton C-segment SUV can be seen here sporting a new grille that has pins all over it, much resembling the arrangement on the grille of the X90. The center of the grille has a T-shaped cover, however this could just be there to hide the vehicle's insignia.

In comparison to the present model, the bonnet appears to have more pronounced sculpting up top, and its lines may match those of the facelifted 2022 Geely Boyue. Here, the lower front fascia also appears to be based on the Boyue facelift, with a lower air inlet that is bigger than that on the current X70.

Minor modifications to the X70's rear end are also anticipated, including the application of camouflage foil to the rear bumper, quarter panels, and the area in the middle between the tail lamps. The X70 facelift for Malaysia will be based on the Boyue rather than the Boyue Pro, which verifies by the similarity of the tail lights. As a result, the interior of our X70 facelift may be anticipated to resemble that of the 2022 Boyue as well.

The X70's main bodyshell appears unaltered for the upcoming facelift because it is an update mid-lifecycle. These appear to be double-five-spoke wheels identical to those on the 2022 Boyue makeover, which suggests that they will also be brand-new.

The 1.5 TGDi Premium X 2WD model, which was most recently added to the X70 lineup, was initially priced at RM126,800 OTR without insurance.

The seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission on the 1.5 liter engine delivers 177 PS and 255 Nm of torque to the front wheels; AWD is an option on the 1.5 Executive. The 1.8 liter engine is also found in the top-tier X70 MC, the 1.8 Premium, which produces 184 PS and 300 Nm.
